Long time no see you. In this blog, I would like to provide about the material about Short Functional Text that Ms. Fatma taught at today's meeting.

What is Short Functional Text?

1. Definition

Short Functional Text is a short text that has particular meaning and purpose, and can be used in our daily life. It may be in the form of prohibition, invitation, greeting cards, short message, shopping list, notice, announcement, etc.

2. Purpose

Short functional texts are types of informational texts to help the readers understand the information quickly.

3. Type of Short Functional

1. Caution/ Warning

This short text has concise information that aims to benefit a large number of people or the wider community. This short function text can be used to provide information about an instruction or warning to the public.

Example:

  • No Smoking!
  • Don't Turn Right!
  • Please Turn off  Your Phone Selular!
2. Greeting Card
It contains a short text that contains greetings and good wishes that someone sends during certain moments.
Example:
  • Birthday Card
  • Congratulation Card
  • Thank You Card
  • Condolence Card
  • Religion Card
3. Announcement
Announcement usually only contains a short text that has a specific purpose in providing formal information to many people.
Example:

Announcement

There will be a flag ceremony on Friday to celebrate Pancasila Day. All students should wear white grey uniforms.

4. Short Message
A short message is a short text that aims to inform someone about certain information that you want to convey. They are usually sent because you can't meet the person in person. You can write a short message on paper or send it via short message on your cellphone.
Example:

To: Dani

Don’t forget to pick up your little brother at restaurant at 9 a.m.

Because today is rainy, so don’t forget to bring your umbrella.

Annyeong chingu!! Long time no see you. In this blog, I will provide material about the Tense that Ms. Fatma taught at this meeting. Tenses are divided into 4 types: present, past, future, and past future. 1. Simple Present Tense. (Subject + Verb 1) The simple present tense is used to express facts, narrate an event, or customs that occur in the present. Example: + (Positive): “They speak Korean very well.” - (Negative): “They don’t speak Korean.” ? (Question): “Do they speak Korean?” 2. Present Continuous Tense. ( Subject + am/is/are + Verb -ing) The present continuous tense is used to describe events that are happening as you speak. In addition, this tense can also be used to tell future plans.
